I thought they were all stock colors..black , white, etc. I’m trying to help this guy out in the UK, with a noise problem in his new Squire, a grounding thing i assume. But he showed me some pics, and it’s a Squire alright , in a surprising Sunburst finish , which is transparent with Tiger striping wood configuration under the finish!! Anyone know about this? Does Squire have a “Custom SHop” now??! (LOL!) Would THAT kinda finish cost more than a regular color Squire Strat? (again…LOL!). Btw- i DON’T own a Squire , i’m just trying to help someone out.

im just starting to play bass guitar (if you havent noticed from all my other questions), i havent bought anything yet… so i was wondering, which bass is best for beginners?
PLEASE ANSWER!!

I would advise not to waste money on a cheap bass guitar, and go straight to a professional bass guitar. I would recommend the Fender Precision bass guitar. I am not mainly a bass player, but I’ve played bass. I think if you bought a 4 string bass with frets and was in good condition, like a Fender Precision, even a Japanese made one, you would be happier in the long run. You can’t take short cuts in learning an instrument. For example I used to think that cheaper 61 key keyboards with smaller keys were easier to play, but actually a full weighted 88 key keyboard is easier, because you can feel your way around the keyboard easier, and if you make a mistake it might not be heard. You could probably apply the same logic to an easy to play bass guitar. A professional instrument is usually easiest to play, so go with an established name like Fender Precision. Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy tried many bass guitars and finally settled on the Fender Precision. The only other consideration I would have for beginners is possibly the weight, so maybe a Japanese made Fender Precision to start off with, which is probably lighter. I used to have a Japanese made Stratocaster, and it was really nice. I also had a Fender Precision, but traded it for a Steinberg Spirit, because they stay in tune longer, but the neck doesn’t have a head, so it’s a little more advanced.
